What are the steps?
-
Subcision is a minimally invasive treatment designed to improve depressed acne scars and skin tethering. Using a specialized blunt-tipped cannula, the fibrous bands beneath the skin are released, allowing the skin to lift and creating a smoother, more even appearance.
-
TCA CROSS (Chemical Reconstruction of Skin Scars) is an effective treatment for ice pick and deep acne scars. A precise application of trichloroacetic acid (TCA) stimulates collagen production within the scar, helping to gradually fill and soften its appearance. Multiple sessions may be recommended for optimal results.
-
Dermal fillers can be used to improve the appearance of certain depressed acne scars by restoring volume beneath the skin and lifting areas of indentation. This treatment is particularly effective for rolling and shallow atrophic scars, helping to create a smoother and more even skin surface. In addition to providing immediate improvement, some fillers can stimulate collagen production, contributing to ongoing skin remodelling and long-term enhancement of scar appearance.
-
Erbium deep fractional laser resurfacing targets acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture by creating precise micro-injuries within the skin. This stimulates collagen remodeling and skin renewal while leaving surrounding tissue intact for faster healing. The result is smoother, firmer, and more youthful-looking skin.
How does it work?
Subcision - beforeSubcision - after
TCA CROSS - beforeTCA CROSS - after
The fibrous bands have been released so the scar base can rise and the surface looks smoother.
A depressed scar is being pulled down by tight fibrous bands under the skin.
High‑strength TCA has triggered new collagen so the icepick scar is shallower and less noticeable.
A deep, narrow icepick scar extends down into the dermis, creating a sharp indentation.
A small amount of filler and new collagen supports the scar from underneath, lifting it toward the surface.
Filler - beforeA shallow depressed scar sits below the surrounding skin because of lost volume in the dermis.

Tiny treated zones have healed with new collagen, blending the edges of scars for a more even texture.
Uneven texture and fine lines from acne scarring are disrupted by microbeams of Erbium laser.

During your acne scar treatment, topical and injectable anesthetic will be administered to maximize comfort throughout the procedure. Depending on your individualized plan, a customized combination treatment will be performed according to your specific scar types, skin characteristics, and treatment goals. These techniques are designed to improve skin texture and stimulate collagen remodelling.
After the procedure, detailed post-treatment instructions will be reviewed with you, including guidance on skincare, healing expectations, and recovery. Our team will ensure that all of your questions are answered before you return home and begin the healing process.
-
On average, acne scar treatments require 4 sessions, with a minimum of 4-6 weeks between sessions.
-
The skin may look red and some swelling may be present for around 3-5 days. The full recovery will take roughly 1 week, depending on the combination of procedures performed.
-
Results continue to improve gradually, and it can take up to 12 months for the final phase of collagen remodelling to fully show on the skin.
